Description
My work is inspired by street art and photography: faces framed with precision, almost iconic, emerge from raw backgrounds splattered with material, text, and instinctive gestures. I love playing with contrasts — black and white against vivid or fluorescent colors — to reveal an essential duality: that between controlled appearance and inner intensity.
Through each canvas, I seek to capture the invisible, to translate emotion or spirituality into a posture, a light, a vibrant silence. My female figures do not reveal themselves entirely, yet they assert a strong and mysterious presence, crossed by inner movements. What I show is only a fragment of what is lived.
Biography
Based in Brussels, I am a portrait artist passionate about figurative work. My sensitivity to portraiture dates back to childhood, but it was only in 2019 that I truly took up the brushes to bring my creative emotions to life on canvas.
My artistic journey has developed alongside a full professional career, where my creations have become a way to channel my emotions. Self-taught, I work by instinct and feeling, while enriching my approach with in-depth iconographic research.
I use acrylic paint with impatience and urgency because I cannot wait for the slower drying time of another medium, such as oil paint.
