Description
Public bench.
In situ construction with seven large isosceles triangles made of water-repellent MDF (180 × 180 × 200 cm).
Inspired by imigongo, a traditional Rwandan art form. Abstract expressions of geometric shapes, in color or in shades of grey and white.
The works emerge and adorn carefully chosen places.
Biography
My name is Anildho David, I am a sculptor based in Brussels.
The concept began in 2014 during my studies in architecture.
I designed a piece of furniture in grey cardboard called Passion.
It tells the story of two beings from different horizons who meet and grow together,
until life separates them.
From there, a story can be read:
an interlacing of isosceles triangles, both a bookrest and an unusual object.
Four forces came into play to maintain the balance of the construction: compression, bending, torsion and tension.
Later, in collaboration with Nora Mahammed, I invented something innovative:
facade coverings made of recycled PVC panels, collected from real estate agencies.
The balance in human relationships is the source of the three-dimensional development of my work.
