Description
Sweet Dissonance
Acrylic – 104 × 140 cm – 2025
For this group exhibition, I was invited to present three works.
I chose instead to focus on a single painting in progress — the first in a series entitled “Sweet Dissonance”, soon to be exhibited at Espace Magh.
Rather than multiplying examples, I present this piece as a manifesto.
It already contains the visual and symbolic tensions that will unfold in the following works.
To show it alone is to assert the coherence of an ongoing artistic inquiry and to invite the viewer to read this canvas as the threshold of a broader project.
The painting explores collective dance as a metaphor for our time:
a flute player leads a procession of children;
at the top left, an empty shell.
Images repeat, bodies gradually fade away.
The work reflects on seduction and surrender — that moment when beauty hypnotizes, when we follow without knowing why, until we dissolve.
As the first piece of a collective dance, it questions repetition and the melody that lures us toward disappearance.
Presentation note:
The image shown illustrates a work in progress.
The painting will be completed next week and presented in a floating frame (caisse américaine).
The attached visuals do not yet represent the final quality of the work.
