Biography
Liina Ranne is Estonian and has lived in Brussels for over 20 years. When I paint, I forget myself. I enter my paintings like open books, infinite modes in perspective. I seek harmony between colors. My brush guides me towards a particular light that of the North. In winter, in northern lands, light is rare and more precious than gold. Each stroke is a story, and I must use it soberly with respect for nature. In Estonia, nature is superior to man and his myths. We communicate with trees, and the scores of our greatest musicians are deciphered with the notes of nature. notes.
