Description
Garden’s roads is a work made during my trip to South Africa from January to March 2023. I took a 4,000km road trip across the country to discover its cultures and environment. The rainbow nation is full of contrasts, and I wanted to present it in a more nuanced light than the Instagrammed vision of African countries. Its history is strong, its tensions heavy and its nature wild.
Biography
I’m an amateur photographer who likes to work on the social landscape, on notions of absence and non-place. I work with both film and digital, the important thing for me being the subject rather than the image medium. I have produced series on Walloon Brabant, confinement, Brussels by night, Reunion Island and South Africa. I studied spatial art in Saint-Gilles and work as a draughtsman in a Brussels design office.
