Description

Without knowing where we are or what’s going to happen, we find ourselves in mysteriously colorful places. Calm, serene spaces that seem lost in time and devoid of life. And yet… Then movement sets in, and the mirrored areas begin to animate the picture with their reflections of light. These cheerful, energetic colors reassure us on this unknown journey. The choice to work with mirrors is not just a question of aesthetics, but an invitation to look at the space around us, to project ourselves into a perspective, and create our own decor. The painting will never be seen the same way twice. Everything changes, everything evolves. The black-and-white vinyl lines, the scalpel engraving and the crystal drops reflect a rigorous state of mind, but above all, tell us a light, poetic story, made up of geometry, contrasts and reflections.

Biography

Born in Brussels in 1984, Isabelle has always followed her lucky star, rolling her hump at the Brussels CAD. Drawing on her experiences and travels, notably to London where she spent several months after her Interior Architecture and Design studies, she has developed a sensitivity to light and gold leaf that she loves above all else. Her choice to work with mirrors is not just a question of aesthetics, but an invitation to look at the space around us, to project ourselves into a perspective, and create our own decor. The painting will never be seen the same way twice. Everything changes, everything evolves. The use of pigments, paint, black and white vinyl lines, scalpel engraving and crystal drops on her paintings reflect a rigorous state of mind, but above all, Isabelle tells us a light, poetic story, made up of geometry, perspective, contrasts and reflections.
