Description
Through his creations, Lou invites viewers to interact with his works. Her wall sculptures create different visual compositions each time they are activated. By opening or closing one side of her triptychs, observers discover totally different combinations as shapes and colors appear or disappear. Partially or completely open, they will discover multiple compositions, inviting contemplation. Lou seeks to bridge the growing distance between viewers and the works, and to break the traditional “do not touch” rule.
Biography
Lou van ‘t Riet grew up in Brussels, where she studied design and architecture before moving to New York for her MFA. Won over by the city, she will continue to live there until 2017, working at the Chamber Gallery and for multidisciplinary artist Katie Stout.
