1. Registration is free.
  2. The application package, including the completed application form and the 3 requested visuals, must be sent no later than midnight on May 30, 2024.
  3. No selection of projects will be made; all projects will be approved upon receipt of the complete application and if the project adheres to the charter defined by “we.art.xl.”
  4. The means of expression are multidisciplinary (sculpture, painting, photography, installation, music, theater, dance, etc.).
  5. Participants will not be remunerated.

WHAT DO ARTISTS, MERCHANTS, AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS COMMIT TO IN THE 2024 EDITION OF WE.ART.XL?

  1. Selected artists will release copyright for possible use of the image of their works in the promotion of the event (promotion support such as posters, flyers, web, or provision to the press).
    1. To open their exhibition space for free during the weekend of the event (For cultural centers, this refers specifically to the exhibition’s free access, not the activities you may offer).
    2. For cultural and commercial venues (theaters, museums, cultural centers, cafes, galleries) on Friday and Saturday.
    3. For individuals: on Saturday from 3 pm to 10 pm, and on Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm.
  2. To ensure the widest possible dissemination of “we.art.xl,” by informing your contacts on social networks and sharing the event.
    1. To promote the event among your friends/contacts/neighbors, offering the opportunity for a beautiful encounter during the presentation of your work.
    2. To use the hashtag #weartxl for any posts related to the 2024 Artists’ Journey on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
  3. To arrange your exhibition space to facilitate public access.
  4. To ensure safety in terms of health measures during reception.
  5. Not to claim any fees for the arrangement of premises, reception of visitors, insurance of works and personal belongings, as well as any subsidy of any kind.
  6. To release the organizers from any liability in case of theft or damage directly or indirectly caused during the scheduled visiting hours of the Artists’ Journey.
  7. To comply with municipal regulations regarding signage, both within and outside the municipality of Ixelles. In case of non-compliance with these rules, the organizers cannot be held responsible for the sanctions imposed on violators. To pay any necessary fees (Sabam) and fair compensation in the case of musical performances in workshops.
  8. The artist commits not to organize any commercial events alongside “we.art.xl.”
  9. The organizers of the Artists’ Journey reserve the right to visit the venues, ensure safety conditions, and exclude subleases designed for purely lucrative purposes.
  10. Any malicious behavior or cunning methods against the organizers and/or participants will result in legal action and permanent exclusion from the journey. This includes the use of computer data or any other data transmitted from organizers to artists and from artists to organizers. The transmitted data cannot be used, diverted, or utilized in any way whatsoever.
